Hi all,
is it possible to connect different SolMans (for bpm) between each other?
As far as I know, this was introduced with EHP 01 (SP19), but I can't any documentation about that.
Some experiences or hints would be great?
Thanks!
Georg
Hi Georg!
This possibility exists for a long time not just since EHP1.
Have a look at http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager
--> Media Library --> How-To documents --> How To: Einrichtung Service Desk zu Service Desk Verbindung
This document seems to be only available in German.
I think it uses just the standard web service interface which you can use to connect any external service desk.
Kind regards,
André

Hi André,
I am glad, that you got my point.
As I implicate from your answer, it's not as easy as setting up an external SD. I might try your approach, but for now we'll simply define the systems individually.
That's why I'll close the thread, but in general this would be a nice feature especially for any IT service provider.
Best regards,
Georg

Hi Georg,
it happened that I had to look something up about CCMS and I found the following article:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/en/d7/28cbcf6dfd455ca8257bf5939a7c48/content.htm
According to this description you can connect several CENs to your Solution Manager. And a Solution Manager can be a CEN itself. So I think you should be able to consolidate your BPM data via CCMS.

Hi Georg,
have a look at this information:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/12/68ebf63e74bc44aa46df81326473e8/content.htm
You should find an example for kind of your problem.
And in general you should find information here:

Hi André,
thx for the link, but I don't think that it will solve my problem.
To get it clear, I am looking for an opportunity to consolidate the BPM data of different system landscapes, whereby each landscape has a own SolMan. To avoid adding each system one by one in the central SolMan, I'd like to use the BPM data of the decentralised Solution Managers.
Is this possible at all? And is there a maximum number of satellitesystems in the central SolMan?
Regards,
Georg

Hi Georg,
thanks for the explanation, not it is more clear.
This is very interesting problem. What comes to my mind is that the BPM creates an own CCMS node in your Solution Manager for the BPM data. It should be possible to connect this CCMS data to your other Solution Manager. This is just an idea I have never tried this.
Kind regards,
André
