Cannot login to sap server - Dispatcher Stopped

Former Member
0 Kudos

Hi gurus , I cannot login to SAP server because the Disp+work.exe is stopped and in grey color. I'm using Ecc 6.0 with MaxDb database in windows 2003 64 bit Enviroment. I'm using the latest kernel which is 221 Patch Level. I also have tried to change different kernel but still the problem persist. Basically this problem started when i was trying to apply patch for the Abab & Basis. Then suddenly the server stop and the work process was in Run Status with dispatcher in yellow color. Now the Disp+work.exe is grey color and Stopped completely. I cant view the work process status which is empty.I have attached the Dev_disp log file from work directory. Please guide me through to resolve this problem. Thank you.

Hi gurus, I want to install a fresh new ERP6.0 system in my company. Since there is EHP4 out in the market then i want to install that version. I have read through the EHP erp 6.0 master guide and relevant document but it's seems to be not clear how to directly install the EHP4. I want to install a Java+Abab system with EP,BI and EPCore.

I've downloaded the Installation Master for 7.01 SR1. I've choose the *Sap ERP 6.0 EHP4 Ready u2013 Support Release 1* to install. But there is no option to Install Dual Stack which is Java+ ABAB at once. The option available is only Abap separately and Java separately which u cant install two instance with the same SID. How do i solve this issue. Is there another way to install the EHP4. If do please guide me through. I'm very confuse.

Hi,

As of EHP4, it is no longer possible to install a double-stack (ABAP+Java) system. SAP wants to move away from this type of configuration (with good reason, e.g. having to keep support packs in sync, and others) and therefore no longer supports this for new installations. You should install one system as ABAP-only and another as Java-only (two SIDs).

Regards,

Mark

Hi gurus, Thanks for the guides. I'm unable to solve the issue but i'm going to reinstall the server with EHP4. But however i've learned some troubleshooting steps through this. Thank you.

Have you started the message server? I beleive this is ECC 6.0 and it is distributed installation. ( I'm sorry if yours is Central system; you dont need to start this explicitly)

In case, if you have ASCS running seperately, make sure message service is running..

Hi sambo , I've applied the latest patch which is patch level 221 now. I've done it before but still the problem persist. The work process is in RUN status and the and the Disp+work in Yellow . It says the Running but dialogue queue standstill. The message server is connected and in green.

There are steps that i've tried.

1.Changed the kernel to patch level 221

2.Restarted all the services

3.Restarted the Max DB database

4.Use the sapstartsrv.exe

5.sappfpar pf=<instance_profile> check - ended with no warning and error message.

6.Restarted the operating System

I am not sure what else need to be done. I will really appreciate your help in this.

Hi,

Sorry to repeat this again. have you checked dev_disp trace file in work directory? This file will be updated everytime you restart the server. Would be great if you could post this

Hi,

The log shows that your system is UNICODE & Based on EMT64 i.e x86_64. So download the patches from Service Market Place

Support Packages and Patches> Entry by Application Group> Additional Components> SAP Kernel> SAP KERNEL 64-BIT UNICODE--> SAP KERNEL 7.00 64-BIT UNICODE >Windows Server on x64 64bit>MaxDB

Support Packages and Patches> Entry by Application Group> Additional Components> SAP Kernel> SAP KERNEL 64-BIT UNICODE--> SAP KERNEL 7.00 64-BIT UNICODE >Windows Server on x64 64bit>#Database independent

Apply these patches & try to start the System.
