How to change packaging material in VA02

Dear All,

I want to change packaging material (e.g. from A to B) in sales order, but I can not find it in the scrren, I find this field

"VBAP-MAGRV" in the table VBAP.

Could you help me? or explain the logic?

I think it's not visible in the sales order line item tabs. It get picked from the material master Basic Data 1 view to the table.

Please note it's (VBAP-MAGRV) not the Packing Material that your going to use for packing. (Eg: Box or Carton, etc)

It's Packing material group that use to group similar type of packing materials.

For example, you can use 'Solids' as a Packing Material Group. Then in the configuration node, assign all types of packing that are used to pack solids. (Eg: Box, Carton, etc)

In the delivery document creation window, without manually entering a packing material (Eg: Box, Carton, etc), you can ask system to search all possible packing materials. In that search, system search all packing materials assigned to that group ('Solids' ), and pop up the suitable list. (Eg: Box, Carton, etc)

That's how packing material group is work in SAP.
