proxy communication is used for communication between the SRM system and PI.

Mainly it is used for communication between

1) SRM (EBP) - PI

2) SUS - PI

this is the case where XML mapping is present only in the PI system and SRM (EBP) and SUS system connect to the PI system for sending the documents from one system to another.

Why communication bet EBP and SUS via Xi called proxy communication. WHy communication bet MM and SUS via XI is not called Proxy communication

proxy communication is not possible in SUS-MM

IDOCs (intermediate documents) are used instead.

MM system does not support proxies , best thing for you to test is to run the transaction SPROXY in your SRM system , if your system is linked to PI system , then it will call the integration repository.

when you run the transaction SPROXY , system will return URL and also the xi content on the PI system.
