Authorization to SAP users based on Doc. Info Type

Dear All

Is it possible to give authorization to Users (sap log-on id) based on Doc. Info type?

If yes, please explain it. Otherwise what is the best to aceive it?

My client has different departments. And they have Doc. Type defined for each department. Their requirement is that, person from other department should not have access to the other doc. info types (Even display shouldn't be allowed).

Your requirement can be mapped using DMS authorization objects.

I'm looking for simple solution/ steps to check this functionaliti. I did already gone throgh the link what you have given. I just need simple steps, with T-codes. Since i'm new to DMS, I prefer simple steps, rather than big documentation.

Hi

Create role by using T code - PFCG->go to Authorization Tab>Maintain Authorization data and generate profile>click change authorization data-->You will see the authorization object >click on Document Management>click on authorization for document access ( C_DRAW_DOK)> under that u will find 1. Activity and 2. Document Type->Maintain the values as per your requirement and then assign this role to particular Users..

hi,

it shud work as explained by yogesh. you please check it again. DMS has following authorisation 6 objects;

C_DRAW_TCD

C_DRAW_TCS

C_DRAW_STA

C_DRAW_BGR

C_DRAW_DOK

C_DRAD_OBJ

with this most of authorisation requirements can be meet.

Do I need to set all these 6 Object?

I have not set C_DRAW_BGR (Frankly I didn't understand how to use it & where we can create it? )

I have just set C_DRAD_OBJ.

In C_DRAW_DOK I have not set ACTVT field.

In C_DRAW_MUP , I have not set ACTVT, DOKST, MUP_CAT

In C_DRAW_STA I have not set DOKST

In C_DRAW_TCD I have not set ACTVT

In C_DRAW_TCS I have not set ACTVT

I have not set field entries, because I didn't get what to set here.

Please help me with this field entries.

Hi

As mentioned by Pramod, those are the authorization object for dms and u can control the authorization based on that.

C_DRAW_DOK authorization object will meet the your requirement.

mantain the activity and document for access and then assign this role to your user. It should work. You can take help from your Basis guy for authorizatiob object.
