how to extract data from r/3

Can anybody tell me, how data can be extracted from R/3,

how often it is extracted, from where the data is frequently extracted. What is the role of a bw consultant in data extraction. pls send to bbr_bw@yahoo.co.in

BW Data Extraction Consultant

Description

The BW Data Extraction Consultant is responsible to identify and obtain the data required to satisfy the requirements of the BW project. This data may include:

» New Dimension product data

» Data external to SAP within the organization (legacy data)

» Data external to SAP from outside the organization (provider data – D&B, Nielson)

normally data extraction scheduled daily, about midnight where no users access to system.
