Has anyone used a calculated characteristic to automatically record a value in results recording? I have seen posts saying this can be done but no specifics like the actual formula that is being used. I am not using batch managment. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Raclaire

Hi Wells
You can use formula by using the calculated characteristic check box at the master level or at the inspection plan level.
Basic operands are used to write the formulae, to determine the characteristic, you have to use c00010 for the first characteristic which has line item no 10.
C00010
C0 determines the characteristic to pickup and 0010 is the line item number.
Hope above small explanation gives you some idea.

Hii Wells,
First get the requirement from the user about the formula for which is to be defined for MIC. Then, to record values for calculated characteristics , first that particular MIC control indicators to be set for Calc charc. Once u assign the MIC in the Inspection plan, the system automatically request u to enter formula in Inspection plan - Quantitative data. There u hv to define formula with the combination of previous MIC & constants if required.
