How to convert ASCII Format to UTF-8 Format

Hi All,

I want to convert file from ASCII format to UTF-8 Format,

Incoming file will be in ASCII format and need to convert to UTF-8.

I have the clue to do it, please suggest me on this

I have the option in Sender File adapter to select the file Type as Binary and mention as US-ASCII

And also in the receiver File adapter, i can select file type as Binary and can mention as UTF-8

Will it work in my case??

HI,

You can use various character set in Communication channel such as US-ASCII, UTF-8 to convert in expected way.

Refer SAP help of receiver File channel.

Hi,

I think you need to use the File type on receiver side as text for UTF-8 encoding.

Try using file type as text on sender and receiver side both.

Sorry Swarup, actually it shld be Text only its my mistake.

So i can select in Sender File adapter the file Type as Text and i can mention as US-ASCII

And also in the receiver File adapter, i can select file type as Binary and can mention as UTF-8

Am i right??

Hi Vamsi,

Try having text in both sender and receiver and in file encoding specify US-ASCII and UTF-8. This should work.

I want to convert ANSI format text file to UTF-8 Format Text file just between the folder with in my network itself.

How to do this with Simple File adapter in XI

If u want to convert ASCII format to UTF-8 with the xi server folders then use the respective encoding formats in sender & receiver CC ;
