Japanese characters

Hi All,

We are facing a problem with the japanese characters.

We are loading the Master data attribute from 0VENDOR, and it has some attibutes (0TAX_NUMB, 0TAX_NUMB2, 0REGION and others) that in R3 have japanese characters, but when we load into BW these characters are replacing with other characters.

For example:

R3 -> 北京紫玉大自然康体俱乐部有限公司

BW -> ±±¾©×ÏÓñ´ó×ÔÈ»¿µÌå¾ãÀÖ²¿ÓÐÏÞ¹«Ë¾

And then the error is "0TAX_NUMB : Data record 3791 ('0010170317 '): Version '×ÏÓñ ' is not valid"

We created a customer message to SAP, and they says to onclude the string "ALL_CAPITAL" in the transaction RSKC. But, if we include that it will affect other loads.

So, do you have any idea to solve this in a different way?

Thanks in advance, Federico

R3 -> 北京紫玉大自然康体俱乐部有限公司

These are Chinese characters, not Japanese characters.

As Masamichi points out, this is Chinese, Simplified Chinese (China) to be exact . So, where I stated to select Japanese, you wou select Simplified Chinese from the Language dropdown in SMLT and instead of adding J to the zcsa/installed_languages parameter, you would add 1.

Here's the list of one character language codes for you to reference in the future (they are case-sensitive):

Afrikans = a

Arabic = A

Bulgarian = W

Catalan = c

Simplfied Chinese = 1

Traditional Chinese = M

Croatian = 6

Czech = C

Danish = K

Dutch = N

English = E

Estonian = 9

Finnish = U

French = F

German = D

Greek = G

Hebrew = B

Hungarian = H

Icelandic = b

Indonesian = i

Italian = I

Japanese = J

Korean = 3

Latvian = Y

Lithuanian = X

Malay = 7

Norwegian = O

Polish = L

Portuguese = P

Reserved (Customer Defined) = Z

Russian = R

Romanian = 4

Serbian = 0

Serbo-Croatian = d

Slovakian = Q

Slovene = 5

Spanish = S

Swedish = V

Thai = 2

Turkish = T

Ukranian = 8

You can identify both languages if needed to enable BW to accept the special characters. You may have to go with the original response by SAP too, to use ALL_CAPITAL as your only value in RSKC (or ALL_CAPITAL_PLUS_HEX if you've got some hexidecimal values that aren't being permitted).

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for your help.

We are having problems at least with China, Japan, South Korea, Russian Fed, Singapore, Taiwan countrys that has special characters from their language.

I have checked the t-code SMLT in both system (R3 and BW).

In R3 there is a list of language, where the only ones in Green are German and English, the rest of them are in yellow.

List in R3

Chinese, Chinese trad., Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovakian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish.

In BW there are only to language English and German.

If we change that, what other impacts can it have in BW? the only information that I found is about this links

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/a3/30ad5296b511d384bb0060975b04f3/content.htm

Can you give me more details about these T-codes??

Thanks in advance for all your help, Federico

Hi All,

For those who want to know how we solve it.

BW converts the invalid characters for languages (in our case Japanese, Chinese, etc) into valid characters, for example as I said:

R3 -> 北京紫玉大自然康体俱乐部有限公司

BW -> ±±¾©×ÏÓñ´ó×ÔÈ»¿µÌå¾ãÀÖ²¿ÓÐÏÞ¹«Ë¾

But, as the field that failed (0TAX_NUMB) was not configured to receive lowercases letters, the load failed.

Solution, check the checkbox of the infoObject in the General tab, to allow lowercase letters.

The chinese characters are not be updated into the MD becasue the language is not installed in the BW environments. for that you should follow the steps given from Dennis.

Regards, Federico.

Hi All ,

           While Loading 0customer_attr Am Facing Some Issues.

1) Data record 1137 & with the key '0000229320 &' is inval 'HHHHHHÉ &' of the attribute/characteristic 0SORTL &.

2) '中央製版 &' ----> Japanese characters.

As For The Above Discussion we have to use ALL_CAPITAL or ALL_CAPITAL_PLUS_HEX

to Avoid the Special Char and Japanese characters.

But Please Tell me What Happen when i use

ALL_CAPITAL

ALL_CAPITAL_PLUS_HEX

Praveen

Hi Praveen,

Take a look to the following SAP Notes.

Note 1528184 - Consulting: Loading data from C Folders to BW

Note 1075403 - Unallowed characters and ALL_CAPITAL

Also, do you have installed the Japanese language in your BW system?

Hi Federico,

You can't see these character correctly till you login to system in those language. Change your log on language and then see if you can see those characters correctly.

As data is already there in system, only thing is how you are seeing into data. If you login to BW system with EN as a longon language it will now show other characters correctly.

Please share how you are trying to see data?

We had similar requirement and was not sure whether need to install language packs (all SMLT / I18N) exercise. We are 64 bit unicode 7.02 SP11 system. Without installing any languages (SMLT/I18N), we are able to load Japanese/chinese characters. We don't want login language as JP/CH, neither RSA1 in respective language. Only ability to load some data in JP/CH languages.

Either you, or your Basis team, needs to identify Japaense as a language in your environment:

1) Go to tcode SMLT.

2) Click on the Language button.

3) Select Japanese from the Language dropdown.

4) Select English from the Supplemental Language dropdown.

5) Click Save.

6) Go to to RZ10.

7) Select the Instance Profile for your Database Central Instance (DBCI) server from the Profile dropdown.

😎 Select the Extended Maintenance radio button for Edit Profile.

9) Click Change.

10) Find and highlight the zcsa/installed_languages parameter.

11) Click on the change Parameter button.

12) Add J to the end of the list of values (it should have at minimum E and D for English and German). Order doesn't matter.

13) Click on the Back button.

14) Pop-up will ask you to Save parameter and you want to click Yes.

15) Click on the Back button.

15) Pop-up will ask you to Save profile and you want to click Yes.

16) Go to menu option Profile > Activate.

If you have multiple application servers connection to the instance, you must repeat Items 7-16 for each application server connected.
