How to activate Guided Procedure Services

Hi,

We have BI 7.0 system installed with oraclle 10.2 as Database.

We have also installed the EP component in it.

We have already upgraded your ABAP stack & Kernel to its latest patch lavel.

We have already upgraded the JAVA stack upto 13 (From stack 9).

Now we are in the process of upgrading the JAVA stack upto 19 through SDM.

The deployment got success upto 85 % and the error that is giving is :

container SAP-EU-GP is not active.

Cannot deploy the application sap.com/caf_eugp~content.

Please sugget to get it deployed by 100%

You should use JSPM to install support packages, not SDM.

JSPM contains a logic which sequence is necessary to apply the components. You system may be hosed.

Agree with Markus.

Really bad idea to do it through SDM

JSPM is lot more reliable. Unless SAP explicitly asked you to do it through SDM, NEVER do it.

Hi,

I have gone thriugh the note 1237312 which says :

"The sulution availabe is to start/enable manually Guided Procedures service(caf/eu/gp/model)."

Can anyone tell me how to start/enable it?

I have stopped ,restart SDM increased Java HEAP size and restart deployment the entire stack. It worked.
