NWDS 7.1 CE SP08 problem

Hi,

I followed this documentation:

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/702f8fb4-db98-2a10-6294-c559084e...

to install NWDS and got the installer from https://nwds.sap.com/swdc/downloads/updates/netweaver/nwds/ce.

I also got this documentation to modify my adapter module to be compatible with SAP PI 7.1:

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index;jsessionid=(J2EE3417300)ID1491632150DB11633962752589437606End?r....

However, I noticed that there is difference between the NWDS that I installed and the screenshot in the adapter module guide. For instance, in the guide, it says to go to Windows u2192 Preference, then expand u201CJavau201D, and select u201CClasspath Variablesu201D. On the other hand, when I open Windows u2192 Preference in NWDS, I cannot find any Java in the window that open. I can only see General, Help, Install/Upgrade, Run/Debug, and Team. Another difference is when I try to create a New Project. In the guide, it says I need to select EJB u2192 EJB Project. In NWDS, I cannot find any EJB in the selection only Projects. By the way, I did not type any filter text.

When I check the version of my NWDS in Help u2192 About, I got the following information: SAP NetWeaver 7.1 Composition Environment SP08 PAT0000 Build id: 200905181619. Anyone know why there is a difference between the NWDS that I installed and the guide? Do I need to install a plugin or something? If yes, can you please detail the steps on how to do it? Do I need to download a different version of NWDS?

On a different but a bit related question, can I develop the upgrade for the module using an older version of NWDS that I used for PI 7.0?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Elbert

HI,

You are not able to see all those options becuase the NWDs might be not installed completely.

Open NWDS & Goto Help --> software updates, it will update the NWDS from SAP market place and then you may be able to see all those options.

Thanks
