Unable to upgrade to Java Stack 02 for SAP NW PI 7.1

While upgrading java of PI7.1 to SP02, I am getting error at "check Queue" Phase.

Part of that JSPM has been upgraded to 7.11.2.

While upgrading the remaining components, JSPM is throwing below error at "Check Queue" Phase.

"Validation finished. Detailed message is Validation finished with error".

I tried upgrading using "Support and Enhancement Package Stack(XML)" & "Single Support Packages and Patches" option and same is the error.

Below is the abstact from Error log file and the log file is attached.

Same here - after setting the free space in the usr/sap/sid from 2.8 GB up to 7.x GB (>5 GB) the problem was solved.

Hi,

I had exactly the same problem deploying SPS 05 for PI 7.1 EHP1. This was the 3rd system in the landscape and I had no issues in the previous 2 systems.

In my opinion, it is definitley a space problem, I has 2.2 GB free in /usr/sap/<SID> and it failed. By cleaning out unwanted files, managed to increase free space to 5.3GB and simply retried the Validation phase and it passed.

No other changes were made between the failed run and the successful ru.

I feel that this is quite good evidence that it is a space issue

Hi,

We have similar issue . Validation of components in JSPM ended with status 'revise'. we were able to fix this after increasing /usr/sap/SID free space from 3gb to 5 gb.

Please check that you remainame all the Zip file to SCA. then also check thet you have good space in the /tmp file system.

The og with JSPM and select the Single support pack as sugested before.

I am upgrading all the PI components of PI 7.11. to Stack 02(04/2009)

I have created the stack defenition file using MPOZ and tried deploying using "Support and Enhancement Package Stack" of JSPM.

JSPM & SAP JVM has been upgraded to 7.11.2 & 5.1.028 respectively using "Single Support Packages and Patches".

I am unable to upgrade remaining PI components as I getting the validation error at "CHECK QUEUE" Phase.

Attached herewith the stack defenition file and log file from JSPM.

Please help me to resolve the issue.

Can you please check that you dont have any Zip file extention in the /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in.

There is no ZIP files in /EPS/in, even enough space is there in /tmp and Java & Abap has been stop/started after JSPM & SAP JVM upgrade. I am unable to upgrade remaining PI components as I getting the validation error at "CHECK QUEUE" Phase.

In our case the solution was to extend /usr/sap filesystem to size when there is at least 5GB free space

Thats' sad, yes it is.

I can confirm: it is a partition space problem.

Just give your sap instance more room and the check deployable units will pass, and deplyment phase will start.

1. increased the server heapsize 'cause server was crashing with OutOfMemoryError during deploy...

2. changed JSPM deploy stragey to normal and lowered deploy checks

3. removed all empty mirror files in inbox directory: for each SCA/SAR file there used to be (dl'ed via SAP DL MNGR) a corresponding small text file, with no extension containing few info, maybe useless... I got rid of them. In my case I originally got 178 files in inbox, after cleaning obviously 79.

Now looks like the thing is going on, but so slowly..

Hi,

Did you restart the JSPM after the JSPM upgrade? if not please close the JSPM and open again.

Try again to apply patches.

Rename the .ZIP to .SCA of all the JAVA Stack files and try again with Single support package option.
