hi,

I have a confusion regarding restore.After taking

offline + redolog backup from prod., i have to restore it to

sandbox.Do i have to create a controlfile+op$ user to restore

my backup & if it is needed how it is done.pls help.

Dear Vivek,

If you follow same as production sap system id, password, OS partition and directory location for SandBox then you just need to restore offline backup.

If note then you have to follow so many steps i.e. need to correct directory location in control files etc.

And i advice if you don't have much Database Admin knowledge then go for option 1.

Hello Vivek,

if you want to change the SID then you should create new control files and needs to update the existing OPS$ users with new SID based on the DB schema.
