change the location in Demand plannig

Hi Experts,

We have DP/SNP/GATP implemented in scenario.

the forecast is done at BOM level. there are 2 ways through which forecast values appear at location XXX.

1. through marketing data input (which is at BOM level)

2. through history data upload.

what can be ideal way if we have situation which required location XXX to be completely replaced by location YYY?

if we focus on changeing the CVC's, how about using the function of realignment? does this function create/copy the same CVC's (which are for location XXX) for location YYY?

what can be done for the output of BOM explosion? means, if the BOM gets explode, the relevant components gets planned to certain location. how can we change the location in this case...so that one the BOM gets exploed, the output i.e. all the components should get planned to location YYY instead of XXX?

your expert openion/expereince is highly appreciated for solving this issue!

Hi Jay,

The simple & ideal way is to maintain the CVC's under new location YYY

and phase out the XXX-products slowly later on.

This will provide error free master data solution and correct data

in place.
