Archiving and deletion

HI

I have ran the report "RSXMB_SHOW_REORG_STATUS" and Choosed the option "Checking all messages" and executed the report. I have got the below message.

Archiving

Number of messages to be flagged for archiving

Message and adapter status is ignored in the following

- Msgs not in retention period (can be archived): 112,758

- Msgs in retention period (cannot be archived): 3,004

Message and adapter status is considered in the following

- Messages to be flagged for archiving: 12,235

============

The above messages look confusing. If the Msgs are not in retention period, how can they be archived ? Similarly if they were in retention period why they can't be archived ? Could you plz somebody clarify me ?

Hi Kumar,

Think of the retention period as the number of days you keep messages in the system. In your case, 3,004 messages are within the retention period and not old enough to be archived. 112,758 messages are old enough to be outside the retention period and can be archived.

Did you done the settings needed for archiving i.e retention period ,if not then check the below guide for the same
