The support statements provided by SAP for productive system environments ensures that the support provided by the manufacturers of the IT stacks of hardware, virtualization technology, operating system and database is coordinated. This includes (among other things) the existence of support contracts and service level agreements among the manufacturers. This type of coordination does not currently exist for Fedora in the SAP space. Therefore, it is strongy recommended to use certified platforms only to ensure an supported stack.

Thanks,

Hannes

If fedora is supported, installation procedure is almost same like on redhat or Suse except some OS specific command differences, which you will obviously get to know after reading the Guides specific to installation of fedora and the SAP Notes specific to fedora or any other flavor of Linux environment.

Check the Notes and supported Linux platforms on sdn and on product availability matrix

SAP Note 171356 - SAP software on Linux: Essential information

Edit: ok, Hannes has already specified the supportability now, it is clear that you might want to use supported flavour

Dear kranthi,

you might be able to do so, but it is not supported by SAP.

Supported hardware and distributions are listed here: -> Supported Platforms
