Hi,
I just want to check if my understanding of archiving in PI is correct.
Messages are marked for deletion or archiving when they are created . Thus old messages cannot be set to be archived later unless special jobs are run for that purpose.
I think a table would be a nice way to illustrate what happens to messages with archiving and deletion
Message flag | job for archiving | job for deleting
nothing | nothing happens| nothing happens
delete | nothing happens| delete if rentention passed
archive | archive | delete
Is my table correct ?
Do the delete jobs just delete all messages that are passed the retention period or only the messages that were created after the configuration was set.
Thanks
Yes it looks almost correct.
Message flag | job for archiving | job for deleting
nothing | nothing happens| nothing happens
delete | nothing happens| delete if rentention passed
archive | archive | delete after the retention period
Deletion job should delete older messages also.
Regards,
Prateek
