Hi all,
I am trying to login to the visual admin by using go.bat file in usr/sap/<xi server>/dvebmgs00/j2ee/admin.
The Visual Administrator screen is opening but i cannot login.
The error message popping up is
"Unable to connect".
The login parameters specified are:
Display name: j2ee
User name: Administrator
Host: localhost
HTTP Port: 50004
Load balancing method: manual
Transport layer: default
On trying to connect it is not even asking the password.
Is there any other means by which we can log into it.
If we have forgotten the password, is there any means by which we can recover the password.
Pls if anybody can help as soon as possible, its a bit urgent.
Thanks in advance.
Regards

hi
You may activate SAP* super user from your config tool and change your visual admin password.
there are lots of threads on it. anyway, this is how u do it.
Do the following to log in as SAP* in the visual admin.
Go to the config tool, click on com.sap.security.core.ume.service(under services in the global server configuration).Under the global properties tab click on the "ume.superadmin.activated" and set this as TRUE(This will be FALSE by default). Then set any password for the "ume.superadmin.password".Restart the cluster for the changes to take effect.
Now login into Visual admin using SAP* and the password that you had set. Reset J2EE_ADMIN password,. Logoff.
De-activate SAP* in the same way you activated it.
btw, give your HOST as the SERVER NAME or your COMPUTER NAME. it should be able to connect.
Regards
Ak.

Hi rajesh
u got following error message.
"Unable to connect"
it's indicate that the J2EE server is not running or hang.
U use the XI system so default administrator user is J2EE_ADMIN and while connect to visual administrator u need to provide only password for J2EE_ADMIN user.
first of all check the following url.
if J2EE server is running u get the J2EE engine Start page.
if it's not display , start the J2EE form XI client (XI system)
SMICM -> Administration ->J2EE server ->
u can perform any method to rsstart the J2EE server.
after this wait for 5 min. also check ur windows task manager.
u see the 3 jlaunch.exe under process with user sapserviceSID

kaushal
