EWA GCA for non-ABAP

Dear all,

I've setup the EWA for our SAP Enterprise portal system (non-ABAP), i've already refer to the note 976054 but along the way I am facing some issues, hope anyone here that has such experience or knowledge could share it with me.

Here I would like to seek help on this 2 issue first:

1. EWA GCA Task in SMD

In SMD Scheduler, I check at the EWA GCA task, there is the error :

Execution failed: RemoteFileNotFound See log for details. Next execution in 60 min(s).

I not able to find any sapnote or forum that could solve this simillar problem.

*2. runtime error "CREATEDATA_UNKNOWN_TYPE" in ST22*_

CREATE DATA: The specified type "/BI0/V0SMD_PE2H2" is no valid data type.

What happened?

Error in the ABAP Application Program

The current ABAP program "SAPLSMD_FUNC" had to be terminated

come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed

please advise me, as I do not setup any BI client (in solution manager), or using any BI system. How should I correct the error? is BI is a must (either BI client or external BI system) ?

the BI_CONT is 703 release SAPKIBIIP8 0008

Hi Jagan,

I do not have BI client setup, or using any BI system.

is BI connection is a 'must' to use SMD?

p/s: the 2nd note 1342231 is apply for EHP1

Hi Kelly,

BI content is for the reporting purpose and forms the base of the Diagnostics.

By default BI Content is delivered in SAP solution manager- Client 001,. you can use it. You can also have a client copy as per Standard and use it as BI client.

You have to perform the Following activities to use it for Diagnostics:

1) Activate the BI content and perform some Changes including manual activation.

2) Generate some users between clients to aid the commuication between BI and your Production client.

3) Use the BI client as a Backend BI during Diagnostics setup(SMD) and run the configuration Process.

All the above steps forms the aprt of Initial and Basic Configutation in solution manager.

Then you have to perform managed system setup for your component.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the sharing.

FOr issue no.2, the shortdump is it generated only when there is EWA for non-abap?

I've actually configured the SMD for my PI system some time ago, but we never get any dumps in solution manager (we are without BI client setup too). please advise.

By the way, do you have more documention regarding BI client in Solution manager & the usage?
