Cannot login to Visual Admin

Hi all,

I am trying to login to the visual admin by using go.bat file in usr/sap/<xi server>/dvebmgs00/j2ee/admin.

The Visual Administrator screen is opening but i cannot login.

The error message popping up is

"Unable to connect".

The login parameters specified are:

Display name: j2ee

User name: Administrator

Host: localhost

HTTP Port: 50004

Load balancing method: manual

Transport layer: default

On trying to connect it is not even asking the password.

Is there any other means by which we can log into it.

If we have forgotten the password, is there any means by which we can recover the password.

Pls if anybody can help as soon as possible, its a bit urgent.

Hi Rajesh,

I answered a similar question somewhere earlier.

You can always reset J2EE Admin password. You can find details about this at

If it's just unlocking then you can Login to Portal using any account which has superadmin role and then you You can Unlock Administrator using Locked Users tab under User Management.

For resetting, you need to activate SAP* user. Follow the procedure provided in the above link.

I suggest you create a new connection and try login in

[Former Member]

You can always use the the offline config editor.

You would need to reset the password within the UME Secure Store of the offline config editor if you change the password

obviously, the server is not running.

Please check the MMC for the current status.
