Domain Change after the SAP installation

Dear Experts,

Now assume, we are having our SAP servers (ABAP+JAVA)(Windows 2008, sql 2008) development and quality system as domain installed systems and production system with cluster installed in a domain say "abc.com". Now, due to some reasons we need to change the domian to say "abc.xyz.com". Would like to know whether this can be done. If we do so then what will the impact and what are all the steps we need to do for the same. Please suggest me the expert advise. Is it better to do that?

Also, have one more query like, suppose say my solution manager system is in domain "xyz.com" and ecc systems are in domain "abc.com", can I still configure the ecc systems in the solution manager and work with service desk and CHARM.

Please suggest.

The supported way of changing the domain is to do a Homogeneous system copy.
