Hi,

You would be able to change the horizon dates for active planning area. Ensure the following things are done before hand:

1. Take a backup of the planning area data and verify the data backup matches with planning area data.

2. Check if there is any time stream/fiscal year variants in the storage bucket and whether that needs to be extended. If so check the dates for all the relevant calendars/Fiscal year variants

2. After the calendars, time stream is adjusted, change the dates in storage bucket profile

3. Initialize the planning area with the new dates

4. Do a consistency check on the planning area

5. For the new dates, you can again verify the data with backup.

First carry out these steps in development and wuality system so that you are sure that the process is full proof. In case there are discrepancies, you have the backed up data available for restoration.

Hi Thamizhchelvan,

You can actually change the start and end date of the storage bucket profile even if the planning area is active.

But there is still some precaution to take:

1. Back up your time series beforehand

2. Extend the profile before it reaches the planning area horizon (well if you don't you might already have some inconsistencies). And ensure that the planning area horizon is fully included in the final dates!

3. Do a consitency check afterward.

Check you data: it should normally be OK. Else you still have your backup!

If you are using a fiscal year variant and a time stream calendar, ensure they are OK beforehand.

You cannot change the periodicity without deinitialisation, but you don't want to do that...

Thanks and regards

Hi Thamizhchelvan,

Once a storage buckets profile is in use, it is not possible to change it.

It is therefore sensible to specify a relatively long horizon. Since the

storage bucket profile does not take up any room in liveCache, this

does not affect performance.

As in your current scenario, since the value is till 2009, your business

requirement will push you to make the change.

In this case, you need to be extremely carefuly. Take back up of the

existing data, make sure data is copied perfectly. Take back up in

quality system also if required so that in case if something goes wrong

also, you can bring back the data.

When you are changing the storage bucket profile values, you need

to deinitialize the planning area, delete all the time series values etc.,

Once the change is done, carry out the cons check for livecache as

well as to planning area objects.

Keep as much as maximum value for storage bucket profile value

Wish you good luck
