How many Ship-To-Parties are allowed for a single Sold-To-Party ?

Hello Gurus,

1) Could anyone tell how many Ship-To-Parties are allowed to be attached to a single Sold-To-Party ?

2) Is there any system restriction from the side of SAP on how many could be attached ?

3) If yes, then, please let me know what is the upper limit.

Hi,

You can attach as many as you can.There is no limit for this.

But we can control the number of ship-to-party's to 1.Not only "SH" but also any partner function can be controlled to 1 only.

If you want to maintain more than one an error message will be displayed.

The path for this is:

SPRO>Sales and Distribution>Basic functions>Partner determination>Set up Partner determination-->Set Up Partner Determination for Customer Master.

Double click on this.

Check the Partner dertermination procedure assigned to your acount group.Select that one and click on Partner functions.Search for SH,there is a check box called as "Unique".Check this one.

Save.

In this case it will allow only once.

Coming to your question we can maintain unlimited number of SH's.

From SAP there is a restriction for one only but not more than that.

The upper limit is unlimited.

Thank you all.

The situation is: We have a customer (Sold-To) who has several branches and other Ship-To- locations. So, we would need to map all their branches and Ship-To locations. It cannot be mapped as One-Time because these are not truly one-Time.

We might have to ship goods to the same location more than one time. The number of all locations is around 1500. We do not use the SAP functionality of 'Hierarchy'.

Could anybody quantify with a link from SAP Help where it is stated that there is no upper limit on the number of Ship-To-Parties getting attached to one Sold-To-Party ? I do not find it anywhere.

The lower limit that there can be only 1 Ship-To for 1 Sold-To is known. However, it is the upper limit that is the problem.

I have tried this. The upper limit is 999 per sold to party. I hope this answers your question. After attaching 999 it will give you a short dump.

Hi,

There is no limit to the number of Shipt to Parties that can be assigned to Customer Master.

There is infact a system in SAP to limit a specific partner function more than once

SPRO-->Sales and Distribution --> Basic Functions --> Partner Determination --> Set Up Partner Determination ,here select Set Up Partner Determination for Customer Master and select the relevant Partner Function you want to restrict and go to PARTNER FUNCTIONS in the Dialog structure in the LHS ans check the "UNIQUE".If this is checked the sytem will restrict the partner function

to only once and will not allow the user to enter more than one.

And the same applies to the other sales documents

But the system has no procedure wherein you can restrict the partner functions to a specific number, if this is your requirement consult your technical team and check if the same can be achieved by using a USER EXIT at the time creation of the Master/Sales Document.

One time customer with several Ship to parties

From the text file to upload and group 30 orders of a one time customer having different  ship to parties out of 100 different customer orders to process in SAP SD. I have to manually choose and group these 30 orders at the bottom of the text file.

What solution / process to follow so that the system uploads eg  this customer's group orders together to sort prior to assigning the delivery number.

A: As many as you can.

A: No restrictions from SAP side, all depends on your business requirements.

Ans: Max 14 ship to parties you can assign to a sold to party.

2) Is there any system restriction from the side of SAP on how many could be attached ?

Ans: In standard SAP functionality there is no options available to restrict the no of ship to party, only way is you should not assign or give authorisation to assign.
