genration of set up matrix

Hi,

I have requirement for genrating set up matrix from charcteristic value. I got following error testing scenario.

1. Transfered charcteristic and class(material class) to APO.

2. Charcteristic as well class are available in APO.

3. When I try to maintain set up matrix for charcteristic value and select that charcteristic system gives messeage charcteristic not found or not valid.

When double click on error it gives message

"The characteristic does not yet exist in the R/3 System or no valid version of it could be found, because it has been maintained with engineering change management"

"Engineering change management can use validity periods or effectivity types."

Can anybody suggest how to sort out same.

Please help at earliest.

Hi Siddharth,

1) Check on the validiity periods maintained for the classes and

characteristics used in R/3

2) Check the class type used whether material class or

equipment class?

Hi Sidhharth,

1) Please check the validity dates of BoM, routing, work center

used for your scenario

2) This valid from field displays the local date of the SAP system.

Can be set with GET TIME.

Hi Siddharth,

In CT04 transaction in R/3, you could see the validity details

of the characteristics. There is also a button

validity adjacent to this.

Also Check whether the classificaiton details are updated

in classification view of material master

Also check whether during ciffing classes and

characteristics, the variant used should contain the

updated valididty periods so that it will update.

Also rerun CIF for all elements again.

This will resolve your problem. Please confirm

Hi Senthil,

Thanks Very much for your time.

1.In CT04 validity button is there but it is not active(disabled) I maintained charcteristic through this transaction only.

2. Valid from date comes as todays date but no valid to date.

When I run check for integration model CFM2 it gives error message "Date(Maintenance) values are missing for effectivity check.

Integration model gets activated without any error.

Error messege reconfirms as rightly suggested by you it is related to validity maintaince. Any idea how to maintain validity of charcteristic. ? or any idea about how to transfer latest version of charcteristic to APO.

We have very short time please suggest .

Hi senthil

1. Validity of class is upto 31.12.9999

2. How to check validity of charcterstic but it is valid today.

3. Used material class only.

Can u suggest any other solution please.
