transfer from r/3 to APO

Hi All

we have 2 divisions in APO landscpe. Same products are defined with different units of measure (business) for each of these 2 divisions (like product X is defined with UOM 'y' for one division and 'z' for another division)

The problem is when the product gets transfered from r/3 to APO it gives an error (base unit of measure error) so for now in our division (that I work) we go ahead and put the product in the exclusion list from the Integration model (this is quality r/3 and APO landscapes) But its giving error again.

What is the possible solution? without changing the units of measure...Any ideas?

Thanks

Pooja

Pooja ,

The best solution is to create a different material code for the second division, if your business scenario allows that .

Iam suggesting this because we had the same problem with conflicting UOM and we ended up creating a different product vode

Thanks

Hi Pooja,

The thumb rule for product w.r.t ; division is , a product can exist in only one division at a time.

same product can not exist in two division simultaneously.

You would like to create a different product number for different division.

Hi,

If Products are physicaly different we need to create two diffrent material codes.

1. Define Two Buisness system Groups in APO.

2. Assign Two R/3 systems to these two diffrent Buisness system with Common APO system.

3. You can CIF user exit and from information Buisness system group you can Perfix product with BSG1(buisness system group1) and BSG2 and Keep all other digits/charcters of product same so that it will have minimum confusion.

Hi,

Try exploring the Inbound/Outbound Q's enhancement & it will ensure to syschronised any extra data in R/3 & APO.
