XML Schema Storage

Dear Forum,

We Save XML schema filles(.XSD) in XML Schemas table in console.

It is observed that File name will resemble the path from where we upload the file.

My questions are :

1. Where exactly will XML schemas get saved (in backend )? Are there special tables that store XML schemas ?

2. How do Import and Syndicator / MDIS / MDSS make use of the schema files ? Usage mechanism ?

3. What is the maximum number of schemas that can be stored in MDM console?

4.Can any other formats other than xsd (like .XLS,XML) be saved in XML schemas table ?

Regards,

Vinay M.S

Hi Vinay,

Please find the answers below:

3. What is the maximum number of schemas that can be stored in MDM console?

There is no limit on storing the XML schema it is somewhat like creating the ports.

Hi Vinay

1. As you must have noticed schema is part of system tables and get stored in backend at DB level. Its only for the first time that we laod new schema we mention the path and that is visible in the schema table.

2. Syndication manager uses the schema via maps as these schemas are integral part of the syndication map.

For import the schema files are useful when we have automated import and we want to entertain only those source files which are consistent with the data model in MDM. Each file being imported is checked against the xml schema and if fine then only the maps open.

3. NO limit I guess.

4. No as this table is meant to store a structure and xls and xml file are normally meant for storing data records.

best regards
