Material description not coming properly in sales order

Hello,

we have one material in material master with the relevant description. the material description field length is 40 characters only. however while making a sales order and putting the material number in the sale order. the description which is coming in sales order for the material is of 35 characters only. the sales order material descripfield length is also 40 char...

I fail to understand why some portion of the material descrption is truncated.

Hi

Please check whether you have maintained any special character in material description? Or please check you system has implemented any user exits? Also you can take help from ABAPer to debug the same.

Hi sachin,

Have you maintaied cust-material info record for the same material. Kindly check if it is maintained, then systemm will pick description from info record.
