How to change PI's adapter control mode?

HI all Expers:

does pi can change the Adapter control mode,for example ,pi have the Automatically ,Manually or External Control mode?, i do not want's to change the adapter's control mode Manual,does pi have anoter way to change the mode .for example ,through url address?

Yes there is a blog on how to control the Channel externally using a URL.....actually it mentiones how to start/ stop the channel.

There doesnt exist any such standard facility. Do you have any specific reason for such requirement? Could you share that?
