Hi Gurus,
Need your suggestion on the below case.
I got a XML file whcih contains special between the variables.While creating the message data type for the XML message,faced the issue that we are not able insert a hypen in between the variable (example : L1-ID).
How to handle this scenario in Messsage data type building?
I understood that SAP-PI allow only underscore.
please suggest any other alternate ways.

Hi Alex,
The workaround would be create the datatype and then the message type for this. Then import the xsd and then add the speical characters in a notepad and then save the xsd and then reimport as external definition. Now you use your external definition for mapping and interface mapping. Please check akhila reply in this thread:

Apart from underscore you cannot add any other special character. Its a restriciton it has.

While creating the data type in PI, it wont allow to enter special chars like Hyphen and all.
You can enter as Underscore( _ )
