extended classic scenario

Hi guys,

I am basically MM consultant and new to SRM. We are implementing extended classic scenario in SRM 5.0 I have following doubts

1) Do we need to configure enterprise structure also in SRM?

2) Do we need to configure release strategy for contracts/POs in SRM or it will flow from R/3

3) If we want to create contract/PO in R/3 also, can we create manually?

1) Do we need to configure enterprise structure also in SRM?

yes . yo need to connect srm with ecc via sm59

and you need to create a model views and sistribute to backend for gr / invoice postings if you need

batch jobs clen re req up , bbp get ststus job update the status in srm and keep the data sync in both systems.

no range of PO must match with SRM in ecc in your in ECS . so you need to configure srm PO number ranges in ecc as well.

2) Do we need to configure release strategy for contracts/POs in SRM or it will flow from R/3

In srm we do have workflow for each objects like sc, po,gr,invoice , contracts etc. there are many workflow temlates are vailable . venture to sap business workflow config for detail configuration.

3) If we want to create contract/PO in R/3 also, can we create manually?

you can create a contract in ECC , but you can use those contracts in ECC only. or you can pull those contracts in to srm by reports after wards you shousl inactivate ecc contracts.

Hi Chintu,

This thread may not be appreciated here since for the basic queiries like these, one can find answers in Google or in SAP Docs. You might need to go through SRM 210, which provides you the basics of SRM.Anyway as the answer to your first query, Yes we need to have an Org plan in SRM either created in SRM or migrated from HRM through Idocs. For the other two questions, you need to go through SRM documents to have them resolved.

Regards,

Kris
