uncar files

hi,

I need some guidance to uncar files properly i want to know the proper

way to uncar them.i know the cmmd. but i want to uncar them in

same folder,how can i do that.////& after uncar where to paste them in

DVEBMGS00 OR IN TRANS/EPS OR USR/SAP/TEK/SYS/EXE/RUN.I AM CONFUSED.

PLS HELP.

What do you want to uncar ?

Kernel Files or Support patch files.

Kernel files will replaced under DVEBMGS00 directory and Support patch files moved into EPS/in folder.

SAPCAR -xvf <filename>

hey,

thanks for reply i have dwnld a kernal file ,basis plugin & a spam patch so

i am cofused that after uncar where to paste them accordingly.

FIrst upgrade your kernel then upgrade your Spam and at last upgrade your Patches.

Read these document for Kernel upgrade.

For spam upgrade login into Client 000 and go to SPAM and load package from fronend and locate the SPAM files you need not to manually uncar the files.

For Basis support patch you can do the same process, but if the files are larger then 10MB then you can manually uncar them

SAPCAR -xvf <filename>

It will uncar the files and move files into \usr\sap\trans\EPS\in directory manually

Hi,

You can directly uncar the Support Pack files directly in to the EPS/in folder. Just run below command

SAPCAR -xvf <File-Name.CAR/SAR> -R /usr/sap/trans

Hi,

The patch files and the SPAM SAINT upgrade files you need not uncar

Just download the correct file according to your OS and SAP installation and then upload the files into the queue through SPAM

Thus if you hav downloaded correct patch, it will show in the queue correctly

Look in the show all queues in SPAM.

Whereas for Kernel you hav to uncar the files in a folder and then go to the USR\SAP\<SID>\. . . correct path of the kernel and paste all the files uncared into the kernel folder.
