Convert to Unicode or not

Hi,

We are currently planning our next SAP upgrade. At present we are using SAP Business Connector for our interface integration, and are considering implementing SAP Process Integration as a possible replacement during the upgrade process. My question is: Would we need to convert our existing ASCII database to Unicode in order for us to be able to use SAP PI, or could we remain on ASCII?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Dan,

SAP PI 7.x based on Unicode could transfer data to and from SAP ERP based on ASCII correctly.

Meanwhile it is recommended to have same codepage (Unicode) in the landscape.
