Hi Vishal,

As others suggested dont create in datatype or right click on the field in mapping and click on Disable Field which will not show up further.

But I am using the first field for using variable file naming.

Hi,

In this case you can't ignore the 1st field. Rather you should supress it in Mapping. that should solve the purpose.

thanks

This way you can discard 1st field

Hi Vishal,

Always the best option is in this case to create a new segment and use it for varibale substituion and trim it in communication channel

else

Pass the value to a segment and you can use that in communication channel.

Yes don't create in Mapping itself :). Other alternatives give fieldlength as 0
