Hi,

Can IS Retail and Manufacturing activities done in same instance ie. in one client/ server.

Hi

It can be done, but organisation need to have very clear understanding of what material, plant, customer and vendor to be used in Manufacturing and Retail. Manufacturing has its own advantages and Retail as well.

In case of Variant configuration can be used in Engineering whereas Generic article used in IS Retail. Basic price for sales will be calculated from purchase in IS Retail but manufacturing its different. Plant is the master data in IS retail but configuration in manufacturing.

Hi there,

Are you talking about running them on a single client or multiple?

As far as I know you cannot run the IS retail version as well as the standard version on a single client.

We are running the IS Retail version and we perform a lot of the maunfacturing transactions on it. But we have to do that with all the retail verbage and transactions. For example you have to use article masters and not just material masters, you have to use mm41 as opposed to mm01. This then causes a number of other pieces of master data to be maintained. There are also cerain aspects of the system that just may not work at all as defined in the SAP Retail help where they specify what does not work in IS R.
