APO DP - Setting up APO BW (internal)

Hi,

you must set up the (internal) APO BW before you load the historical data from an excel sheet or from the R/3 system to SCM APO.

But what are the prerequisites when you load the data from an external BW system to the APO;

e.g.

do we need also the internal APO BW settings?

(e.g. Creating the Source System APO BW; Transaction RSA1)

Hi Michael,

1) You need to create all BI Technical objects & APO objects like

Infoproviders

Infosources

Charactersistics

Key figures

Attributes

Planning area

Planning book

Update rules

Data warehousing workbench

Planning object strucutres

Time series etc.,

2) For importing data from infocube to planning area, assign key figures to the planning area,

you enter the InfoCube from which the key figure is taken. This forms a permanent link

between the InfoCube and the planning area. (for permanant access of data)

3) You use load data from an InfoCube into a planning area functionality which are

designed for InfoCubes that are not defined in planning area administration.
