Migration of Smartforms / SAPScript forms from SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP ECC 6.0

Dear Members,

We are in process of re-implementing SAP with SAP ECC 6.0 from SAP R/3 version 4.7

We have created many layouts using SAPScripts & SAP Smartforms in SAP R/3.

My question is, are there any migration tools available in SAP ECC 6.0 in the form of function modules, BAPI etc to convert existing forms of Smartforms / SAPScripts created in SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP ECC 6.0 ?

Or do we have to design all existing forms created in R/3 once agin in SAP ECC 6.0 ?

We request our dear members to share their views on the above mentioned problems faced by us in the re-implementation project

Thanking you,

With best regards,

Hi,

About sapscript.

You can export and import your sapscripts with program RSTXSCRP.

For this you also have to transport the referred printprograms.

You also have to transport the customizing doen for this.

One extra note for sapscript: The new sapscript version is more critical with tabs and alignment, Sometimes you have to align some items in your sapscripts again.

About smartforms

You can not download smartforms with version 4.7 (not sure maybe it is 4.6C) with smartforms itself.

So you have to transport it with a transport request.

further the same as for sapscripts: you also have to transport the referred printprograms.

You also have to transport the customizing done for this.

success.

Why do you need a tool? Certainly you are just upgrading an existing box? ERP 6.0 does not break the definition of exisitng layout definitions. If you need to back-port changes from your QA/4.7 system while you are in the process of upgrading a development box (assuming a standard process), then use the download/upload process for Smartforms or use transports. SAP says that transports between versions are not recommended but they work fine.

Dear Friend,

As per our consultant's view, we are not upgrading from SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP ECC. We are re-implementing; that is, we are going to implement SAP ECC as if we are doing it for the first time ever in our company. This is due to drastic organizational changes happend in our company. So, upgrading from R/3 is not feasible solution, according to our consultants.

So, we have to re-configure all settings in SPRO manually in ECC based on our new business scenario. There will be new company codes, plants, business area etc., which will be totally different from existing R/3 system.

But the template definitions of the existing forms maintained in SAPScript / Smartforms will remain same.

There are 50+ forms (boith SAPScript / Smartforms put together) and manual re-designing of all those forms will be tedious within the scheduled date of GO Live.

In that case, to avoid re-designing, what is the best method that can prevent manual re-design of Smartforms?

For SAPscripts, I got some good news from our some of our dear forum members.

Thanking you,

Hi,

As i said it is also possible to transport smartforms to the new system.

Itis not possible to down-and upload manually but you can put them into an transport and import that transport in your new system.

BUT

i also have bad news.

In most cases you can decide yourself if you use sapscripts or smartfroms. But not everywhere. In the meanwhile since 4.7 there are forms which where in former times sapscripts have been changed into smartforms without choice possiblity.

In that case you have to redesign your sapscript into an smartforms.

Because you have about 50+ forms there is a big chance this will be happen to some forms.

Hi,

Use this standard program RSTXSCRP to download scripts from 4.7 and then upload them into ECC.
