Is it possible to customize chart formatting? (VC 7.01 SP4)

In Visual Composer, is it possible to customize chart formatting, or create a custom theme?

In the chart formatting we have a selection of color schemes, "Default", ""Straight", "Reverse" and "Snake". One of our customers doesn't like the color schemes of any of these and wants to know if it's possible to define our own color scheme.

Also, we want to eliminate the shadow on the line graphs.

We looked in the portal theme customization and did not see anything for affecting the color schemes used for charts. Is there another place where we can customize this?

Hi Basheer,

Thanks for the suggestion. That wiki article points to a SAP Note (for our version of portal/VC) that points back to using the portal theme customization. But it does have a helpful comment about the color of buttons and some other elements being image files.

Hi,

1) From EhP1 SP5, you have the ability to change the color pallete i.e. instead of Straight, Snake etc.. there's a new option called "Manual" where you can set it to the color(s) you want.

2) if you want more customization of your charts, you can use another feature on 7.01 SP5 - "Flash Components", check out the sticky note ()

Hi

You can customize colour schemes to certain extent in portal only. But for that you have to do following settings in VC.

Follow the Path in VC - Tools ->Options ->Compiler ->Check the option 'Enable Flex Controls in Portal Themes'

THen the colours will get changed as per the portal theme.

Thanks for your suggestion, but we've already tried that, as stated "We looked in the portal theme customization and did not see anything for affecting the color schemes used for charts." I tried to paste what is available in the portal theme customization but it killed the formatting of this messaage - anyway the color schemes for the data series are not available for customization this way. The only element listed under Chart View is "Background Color of Chart View" and that doesn't help.

Do you know of any other way to affect the colors and the order they're used, in the color schemes? Also, is it possible to remove the shadow on the line in the line graph?
