Hello All!
I have tried to install <b>Sneak Preview WEB AS ABAP 2004s</b> and it permanently fails at step "Import ABAP" when testing DB connection with this error:
(DB) ERROR: db_connect rc = 256
DbSl Trace: Connect to database failed, rc = -10709 (Connection failed (RTE:Location part contains characters which must be escaped))
(DB) ERROR: DbSlErrorMsg rc = 99
When running R3Load.exe -testconnect manually its output looks as follows:
<b>[code]sapparam: sapargv( argc, argv) has not been called.
sapparam(1c): No Profile used.
sapparam: SAPSYSTEMNAME neither in Profile nor in Commandline

Tried local installation
JRE version - 1.4.2_09
SAPDB: NSP service is running.
Checked DB connectivity via MaxDB database manager and it connects successfully.
Tried to install from nspadm account and run into the same error.
Any help please?

Hi,
Check whether the windows service "xserver" is running.
It is mandatory for the work processes to be able to connect to the database on MaxDB.
A similar function like listener for Oracle.
Thanks,
Yatin

Hi
check whether the installation user has required authorizations ( like user is in administrator group , database operator group) , enviornment variables are set properly and you have instaalled JDK not JRE.
Thanks
Prince
