Logging on is currently hindered, and some people are writing to me wanting to know whether they have been guestified ...
It seems that http is now supported and the logon page is redirecting back from https to http.
After logon, just add the "s" hack to "http" = "https" and it should work again, as a workaround.
As this is the most visited forum in the SCN, I allowed myself to post here and cross-post to the Suggestions and Comments forum.
Cheers,
Julius
Hey guys,
does it work for you?
I am still not able to login to SDN without that hack. Also the "spell check" is not working.

Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Spellchecker works for me with FireFox, but not IE. But my IE anyway has several problems, particularly with Java scripts because I tweeked the settings and some sites rely on them having not been changed from the "meduim".
The logoff problem seems to be okay now, but I still have to manually add the "s" back when I want to logon.
I have not heard anything specific, other than that some folks were working hard at trying to fix it.
I think it was an intention to activate http for the forums if a SAP passport was not used to authenticate, but then the redirects and the caching on the servers made a soup out of it.
Unlike Yedi, I am not certain of why this happened, what it is and how it can be fixed - otherwise I would have suggested it already...
Cheers,
Julius
Hello Julius,
i wonder if this will ever be fixed... this is now an issue since over a month ...
The spellchecker is not working in Firefox or in IE for me. From time to time i have the problem that i am not able to logon with this workaround ... the Firefox tells me that it is in a loop and will never get the site. If i try it with the IE ... the certificate popup comes up and i can select my stored certificate.
That whole stuff is really annoying ... no official information about the problem .. when it get fixed, etc.
Regards
Stefan
What is strange is that one of my PCs will not let me logon to SDN at all. I confess that it is my experimental PC and the firewalls and browser settings have "do not click on everything which moves" type config.
With IE and FireFox I dont have problems, except the Moderator Admin Consol which is back to normal behaviour similar to that experienced before the changes. Actually, it is more stable now.
At TechEd Vienna I spoke to one of the developers about this. The problems were caused by a google ads idea which only supported http, and then the existing infrastructure (layered out for https) started caching unexpected session ID's on the servers.
I still experience this in the blogs. Linkfarmer's nighmare...
Another correction will go in soon for final tweaks (I was told) and then all should be well (except for irritating google ads in an obscure collaboration area).
Cheers,
Julius
I'm also victim of SCN Login trouble. Now days I'm facing this problem more often. Actually, I have saved my Login ID and Pwd on my personal laptop. When I try to open SCN URL it usually end-up with the message
"u201CYou can't access this page with your current permissions (403 error).u201D
Always I thought that may be Iu2019m being gueastified by you guys
I have passed this issue to SCN team, but unfortunately it had resolved without human intervention before they revert back Donu2019t know what was the problem was though.
Cheers
I think the problem I am having is related:
Any time I try to reply to or edit a post I get the message " This page contains both secure and non-secure information. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?"
If I press yes, the next page display properly. If I press no, I do not get the "preview" tab (and maybe other features are missing as well).
This has been going on for a couple of days and is really irritating. (IE7).
(But not a problem in Firefox 3).
Rob
