Hi all,
I'm beginner in SAP xMII. Now I'm investing to SAP xMII 12.0.
I have read some document about SAP xMII12.x and then I have tried to configure an integration from SAP ECC to SAP xMII 12.0 via IDOC.
But the connection RFC from SAP ECC to SAP xMII is always error. In this situation, I think the error is caused by: I didn't configure to connect SAP ECC to SAP SLD before creation of RFC from SAP ECC to SAP xMII.
So, my question:
If I would like to integrate from SAP ECC to SAP xMII (via IDOC, RFC, BAPI), I have to first of all configure to connect SAP ECC to SLD of SAP Netveawer? Is there relationship between SAP ECC and SLD of Netveawer and SAP xMII 12.x?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Vinh Vo
Vinh Vo,
Have you been through these two articles? make sure you follow the steps closely in the first one
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/50775783-6cb1-2b10-90b0-e6bc2c0b8563
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/b0f26203-5ebd-2b10-5cb4-84e7019bfadc
SLD should be unnecessary for ECC IDOC to MII integration:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/31/f0ff69551e4f259fdad799a229363e/frameset.htm
If you are attempting ECC integration with MII you can also learn a lot from this project:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/downloads?rid=/library/uuid/f0a4be8f-4d6e-2910-9aaa-891499a41625
Learning from the SDN community forum, sample content downloads, and the insight shared in guides and other articles can be a great enabler and reference source, but I have concerns as you mentioned being a beginner with MII. Have you had any formal education or worked with a partner to provide a knowledge foundation for MII?
Regards,
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,
Thank you so much for your help, Jeremy!
It's very helpful for me.
Now I'm ABAPer and working in an Outsourcing company which is a partner of SAP.
About formal education, I'll attend to SCM380 course by SAP in September-end.
Just at the moment, it's the first step for research before course-start.
Jeremy, by the way, if possible, could you help me to explain more about RFC Destination (type TCP/IP) to SAP xMII server (in following document "[How to Install & Configure NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) for your Manufacturing Landscape|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/50775783-6cb1-2b10-90b0-e6bc2c0b8563]"): I have problem with "Registered Server Program" and "Gateway Option", for more detail below:
- Case 1: In the document, I see the gateway host and gateway service are standard host and standard service of SAP EEC(SMGW->Goto-Parameter->Diplay), but my SAP ECC is ABAP AS (don't contain JAVA AS), so I cann't create the Program ID "MII_IDOC" on this gateway host (of SAP ECC) => therefore, RFC is always error with message: "ERROR: program MMI_IDOC not registered".
Case 2: I created program ID "MII_IDOC" on xMII server (by J2EE Visual administrator tool) and then fill gateway host and gateway service of xMII server. But, RFC have another error: 'gateway host (of xMII server)' is unknown. How can I configure gateway of xMII on SAP ECC? actually, on SAP ECC, we have only one standard gateway of SAP ECC.
How should I do to with Registered Server Program and gateway option to connect successfully to SAP xMII server?
Thank a lot Jeremy,
Vinh Vo
