outbound Mail issue

Hi,

I have two instance on EP6 sp2 with oracle database.From one instance email notification is working for one activity(user creation)and but for other activity (passwd reset) its not functioning, checked email notification activity is checked in systemadmin->systemconfig->umconfig->notificationemail. Pls let me know where will I find some infomation to dignose this problem(logs or trace etc)

You can check the following log & trace files

<Drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\<INSTANCE>\j2ee\cluster\server<ID>\log\system\server.log

Trace File

<Drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\<INSTANCE>\j2ee\cluster\server<ID>\log\system\defaultTrace.trc

Also check the Log Level in the Log Configurator using Visual Administrator

I have the same problem. passwords are being reset but users are not getting emails. Emails are being sent out when administrator manually changes the password of any user from useradmin.

Did u solve it??

Hi Mhadi,

Only thing I did was went to sysadm->system config->UM configuration->notification Email unchecked and rechecked the User requests that password be reset and it started working for me.

The problem persists and this is happening on our Dev, Test and Prod systems..

Any other pointers?? as the Out-of-the box functionality from SAP should work when smtp is set.
