Web Dispatcher - Mutiple application system

Dear All,

I have configured web dispatcher in DMZ zone for one of our ECC system and configured SSL for web dispatcher.

The Scenario is like Portal and web dispatcher in DMZ zone with https and connected to the ECC systems. Everything is fine and there is no problem in that.

Now we have plans to use the same web dispatcher for another BW system with another portal. I am not aware of the advantages and disadvantages and also more importantly is this possible or not?

Queries are

1. Is this possible to add the other system in same wed dispatcher?

2. Is this recommended by SAP?

3. Do i need to go for another https certificate for newly added BW system - incase if i am bringing new system to the same web dispatcher?

Kindly advice me on the above.

I have gone through the document of sap and understood that we can proceed with virtual IP also. Recommended one

Let me proceed further with Virtual Ip for new web instance.

HI Vijay,

You cannot use the same web dispatacher instance to connect to another system. One web dispatcher instance can connect to only one message server.

The option here is you have to install another instance of web dispatcher on the same host and configure on different ports. But this is not recommended as the session cookies may overwrite.

I recommend to use a seperate hardware to connect to another system.

Please revert for more clarifications.
