Query: QM control indicator

Dear All,

Can anyone explain the basic settings required for QM-WM interface?

There is a small confusion in the step define 'Inspection sample control'.

Let us consider the entry '001 QI 917 1 H'.

This means that for warehouse 001, the inspection sample qty is to be transferred to storage type 917.

What is the purpose of QM indicator and inspection sample indicator?

Help says that they both together deterime the storage type search.

What is the necessity of storage type search again, as storage type 917 is assigned already.

Hi NSP,

The storage type search requirement depends on inspection sample indicator you are giving. I mean if inspection sample indicator is 3 (Put Away), system needs storage type search otherwise not.

inspection sample indicator: decides where the sample should go, Options are

Stock transer to insp. sample bin (917)

Remains in GR zone (902)

Put Away (based on storage type search )

Ignore (scrap)

QM indicator:

You are telling "For warehouse 001, the inspection sample qty is to be transferred to storage type 917."

still it is does not hold good for all materials. In "Activate QM Interim Storage Type Search", you have to give this QM indicator against your warehouse search strategy. i.e. combination of warehouse, operation, Type indicator, spl. stock indicator, etc.

So the entry '001 QI 917 1 H' is only a pre-requisite to say that "for warehouse 001, the inspection sample qty is to be transferred to storage type 917". Again your strategy checks whether this QM indicator is assigned or not.
