Can any one please let me know .Net or PI is the good fit for integration with AS400.

Hello,

It depend upon requirment.

Before choosing any Middleware u need to consider the business requirment, resources required, Bugdet everything. So cannot just say which is better to work with AS400.

Yeah thats true bt my client is asking about this. So I posted if i can get some clue.

Do u have any documentation on advantages of Connecting AS400 through PI.

Hi,

.Net only support Window based system so take this factor into consideration. Also .Net is not integration tool it is programming tool.

PI on other hand is integration tool and can be used on both AIX and Windows based architecture. So for integration your customer can chose any tool based on following consideration:

- Type of enterprise landscape (SAP/non-SAP)

- Licensing cost

- Operational Cost related to middleware

- Resource availability

- Vendor support.

PI will be good fit for AS400 but eventually it should be decided based on business need and budget of customer.
