SE06 question when you do a database copy from Production to Quality

I'm doing a database copy from our Production system (P01) to our Quality system (T01)

When you go to SE06

Database copy or migration ?

Database

Reinstall CTS ?

Yes

Source ?

P01

Change Orig ?

On this I see differenet answers with Yes or No (which one is right)

Delete TMS ?

Yes

Delete old routes ?

Yes

Hi Joe,

For the question about "change originals" we need to know a bit more ...

Only when you are creating a new "DEV" system, with a different SID versus the old DEV system, than you should enter YES to this!

So, if you have a separate DEV system "preceding" your T01 Quality system and you are only refreshing QA then the answer should be NO.

This is all because of the field SRCSYSTEM in table TADIR for your "own" objects needing to point to your DEV system.

That's the way that SAP recognizes if an object is the original in the DEV system or a copy in another system and defines how it handles changes to the object.

Hi Joseph

When activating the transport routes, it is automatically recognized that a database copy existed. The corresponding adjustments in the system are automatically carried out without having to handle object originals if you select "No"
