I have meet a problem when trying to connect to SAP BW from Universe Designer, with the error message:
DBD: A runtime exception has occurred. (License key check failed. Check that you are licensed to access SAP data sources)
I've installed the BOE XI 3.1 with a valid license. How can I to solve this problem?
Thanks
Amos

Hi,
take a look at this note:
1199799 - Adding the license key for SAP Integration Kit
and here you can get the license keys:

HI,
Go to control panel -> add remove program.
Select BO Integration kit.. CLick on change, select upgrade.... specify your licence key... complete the upgrade.
restart pc.
Rt click on Universe builder -> run as administrator. build a universe.
From next time onwards things should be smooth.

We are facing this same problem. The trange thing is we get this error only in query as a web service when we try to create a qaaws on a universe which is made on SAP BW. When we try to make a webi report on the same universe, there is no problem. So i don't think it has anything to do with the license key of the integration kit.
Is there an upgrade for qaaws available which solves this problem?
is the Int Kit required on the client, or do you just need it installed on the BOE server?

Hi everybody. ws having the same issue so I re-input the license key we used with the installation of the BW Integrators kit as suggested earlier in this thread and I am getting the same error:
A runtime exception has occurred. (License key check failed. Check that you are licensed to access SAP data sources)
We are on BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP2 version 12.1.0.882
And BusinessObjects XI 3.1 Integration for SAP solutions SP2 Version 12.1.0.890
And BusinessObjects XI 3.1. Integration for SAP Solutions FP 2.1 Update
Any help in with this challenge would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks

Hi,
We are able to login to infoview using SAP Authentication.
But when we try to create a connection in Universe designer, we are getting an error " A runtime exception has occured. (License key check failed. Check that you are licensed to access SAP data sources"
Any suggestions please?

Hi,
To access SAP BW sources with Business Objects products you need also to install SAP Integration Kit that has its own license key.
