CKR1 and CK44

Hi Friends,

Have any of you had experince with deleting standard cost estimates for whole plant with more than 3000 materials using Tr code CKR1? Is it mandatory to delete costin run too using Tr code CK44? SAP gives following warning while running Tr code CKR1:

Deleting current standard cost estimates can cause inconsistencies

Message no. CK669

Diagnosis

If you delete a current standard cost estimate, the fields for the cost estimate are set to zero in the material master record. If you use the material ledger, the standard prices in the material ledger master data are also deleted when you delete the current standard cost estimate. The material master record for the material thus does no longer contains a current standard price from a standard cost estimate.

If you delete an active standard cost estimate, you can no longer determine scrap, work in process and variations for previous periods.

In certain countires, it is a legal requirement to maintain records of standard pricing. Therefore, you should check whether you are obliged by law to keep records of your standard cost estimates. Please also contact the relevant accounting and inventory management departments.

Have any of you experienced above issues such as not being able to calculate work in process and variance for open production orders? If yes, is there any way to fix such issues? After costing run is done, goods movements have already been posted in the system and also there are some open production orders with goods issues posted to them.

Any input on this will be highly appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

Pinky

Hi Pinky,

First you need to delete costing run through T. code CK44 and then after you can delete standard cost estimate by using T. code CKR1 accordingly.

Dear Mukhi,

In my understanding CKR1 alone can be used in case of reorganising the cost estimates like existing or future one.

It is a standard warning message that SAP system gives us while executing CKR1.So if needed you can proceed ahead

ignoring the warning message.

In case if you are going to do for a group of materials,in my understanding it only does for the first level of a product and not for

the entire structure of BOM assembly.(the cancellation of cost estimate will be made for only for the top level of a product and

not to its sub-assembly).

So check with this and revert back.
