Hi,
Can anyone please explain in the context of Quality inspection by the method of sampling how 917 is used??What if Quality inspection involves has destructive testing and material never comes back to Warehouse?? please explain..
Regards
Shri
Hi Shri,
If QM is active in Material master, automatically, at the time of GR sample goods are posted into 917 storage type, QI Stock with instead of 902 storage type, U Res. Again at the time of usage decision, It is converted from QI stock to U Res. stock. A PCN is generated here. Later at the time of TO for Material doc. you have to select a radio button. Options are as follows.
Stock transer to insp. sample bin (sample should remainin 917, Quality)
Remains in GR zone (902, GR#)
Put Away (keep it Warehouse)
Ignore (scrap)
If you activate Imediate TO, You have to activate QM Interface giving this option well in advance at the config. stage. Otherwise Imediate TO is not created.

Hello,
I assume that your QM is active with WM. If QM is active then system works as per following.
1.When you do GR system creates TR with 902 source storage type . This TR converted into TO with destination storage type 917& bin as a quant number.
2.You can take quality decision then system creates posting change notice & moves material from 917 to 922 & from 922 to final putaway storage type & bin.
For this you have to setup
1.movement type
2.Storage type search with 917 & Q.
Please use all the abiove hints to complet this scenario.
Regards,
Prashant
