Connection timeout in Enterprise Portal

Dear All,

When one of our top management tries to access a particulat Dash Board in EP system for the first time in the morning

he gets an error connection to partner timeout after 60 seconds.

Description of Error:

Error -5

Version: 7000

Component : ICM

Module:icxxthr_mt.c

Line:2698

Server: epbwprd_EBP_00

Error Tag: {-}

Detail: Connection to partner times out after 60seconds.

When he tries again it happens and this error never repeats after that.

We do take daily offline backup of our BI PRD system in the afternoon.

I have to fix this. I tried increasing the Java time out parameter from 10 mins to 15 mins but

nothing happens.

But it comes only once during morning.

Is there any other parameter for this I need to check or some or any other issue.

Hi ,

You may need to check below two parameters for timeout issue::

icm/keep_alive_timeout (sec.)

icm/conn_timeout (msec.)

I found one SAP note "824554" and will apply it tomorrow as it require me to restart the server.

He, he, he.... I wonder why thing like this always happen to the big chiefs...

Anyhow... Does this happen to anyone else?... if not then it could be a name resolution issue... also check the exceptions on the proxy settings of IE.

Well l agree..lets see if I can convince him..else will raise a msg to SAP before changing any parameter..
