Dear Gurus,
Could any one ans me how can i configure SMTP in Ecc 5.oo server.
i can mail in local domin (which details has been given by our local network adminstrator ).
but when i am going to send mail gmail..yahoo.. etc.. i am not able to send
following erro message in shwoing .. "relay access denie".
1. i need to configure in O/S .?
2.is it error form mailing server ..?? ( mailing server is UNIX)

You can configure SMTP in Tcode scot.You need to maintained your domain name entry in SCOT.For moer information on SMTP configuration please refer to SAP note 455140.Also you can refer the below link::

As you 're getting mails from SAP box, your SMTP configuration is fine.
The error "relay access denied" indicates that your relay server (e.g. a MS Exchange server) has some rules. Relay administrators only can modify the rules. The smtp server address you can see in smtp configuration screen, in SCOT.

I hope you are right .. as i talk with exchange server ( mailing server) admin he is saying form SAP side only i have assing
some user id or password .. so is there any opstion to assing user id or password.??
for outgoing mail Excange server admin has set some role or policy ..that is without there veryfy user id or password ..mailing server wlll not allow to go out side mail...
